Cessnock City Council is offering up to eight free plants for residents who built or bought a new home in its local government area during the past 12 months.

Council’s recreation services manager Nicole Benson said the initiative had run successfully for more than 15 years for the benefit of residents.
“There are a range of trees and shrubs available from ground covers like cut leaf daisy to grevilleas and banksias,” Ms Benson said.
“Trees and shrubs have positive environmental impacts.”
Application forms must be received no later than 5pm on Friday, February 13 and are available from council’s website or administration centre.
