What a Tuesday night of sport it was this week with the Socceroos, Nick Kyrigos and the Allan Border Medal running live alongside one another.
And soaking up the atmosphere from the comfort of his lounge room was former Maitland Triathlon Club member Aaron Royle.
But rather than channel surfing and flicking between stations the Commonwealth Games bronze medallist came up with an alternative solution - the dual screen approach.
“We don’t really like sport in Keira St?! Come on Kyrgios! And the Socceroos!” he posted on Facebook.
There were plenty of Maitland football fans at Hunter Stadium decked out in green and gold to support the Socceroos in their Asian Cup semi-final.
This included former All Saints College duo Josh Castillo and Brenton Cahill, the Emmett brothers Darcy and Patrick, Maitland Magpies player Murray Leyland as well as Maitland Triathlon Club president Matthew Hubbard and son Oliver with the now famous sign “Stay Calm And Cross It To Cahill”.
And who could forget Jumpy the friendly inflatable kangaroo from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, first making headlines with gold medallist Kim Mickle’s on a victory lap around Hampden Park.
Jumpy launched a comeback of sorts, well at least Mach II or a cousin of the original, courtesy of parkrun king Dave “Robbo” Robertson.
Further south and there were Maitland connections courtside at Melbourne Park for the Australian Open quarter-final match up between homegrown Nick Kyrigos and Scot Andy Murray.
Nick, Julie and Tom Rinkin were joined by Mariana Bogdan.
And Maitland hockey product Simon Orchard obviously lost a bet to receive this latest haircut while playing in the Hockey India League.
