Attendance at the show and entries into displays and competitions were up across the board, Hunter River Agricultural and Horticultural Association operations manager Amanda Winney said.
She estimated that about 10,000 people had walked through the gates at Maitland Showground between Friday and Sunday for the annual show.
Ms Winney said this year’s attendance was about 1000 people more than last year.
“Entries for every single section was up this year, which was great,” she said.
“A lot of people came despite the rain.
“We thought it [the wet weather] would have an effect, but the figures say otherwise.”
Fireworks Factory put on a spectacular display for visitors on Saturday night at the show’s annual pyrotechnic display.
Ms Winney said the jet van display, the D-MAX precision ute performance and the mechanical bull were among the crowd favourites this year.
“Heaps of people were watching the jet van,” she said.
“People came running down to look at it when they heard the noise.”
She said the Old Kentucky Farm Yard animal nursery was the most popular activity for the youngsters.
Ms Winney said she considered this year’s show a success and thanked all of the event’s sponsors for their contributions.
