Kurri Kurri’s Reed resumed in 13th spot and managed to claw his way back to finish seventh just behind his TwoTwo Motorsport teammate Josh Grant.
Reed had been chasing a podium finish to go with his victory at Atlanta’s Georgia Super Dome the week before and the Duel in the Dome title.
The round was won by Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey who has extended his lead at the top of the series.
Reed now sits sixth in the series and his recent form will have those above him nervous.
