Maitland South Australia and Florida have both taken to social media to encourage their residents to vote, vote, vote.
“This is absolutely fantastic,” mayor of Maitland, Cr Peter Blackmore, said.
“We are honoured other Maitlands have joined us.
“The benefits are going to be there for Maitland, in years to come people are going to be looking at a Monopoly game and say I was part of that.”
Maitland needs as many votes as possible to take the win in the wild card section of the Monopoly competition.
If successful, Maitland will feature as one of the brown squares on the 22-space board game called Monopoly Here and Now.
To vote for Maitland go online to www.votemonopoly.com and type Maitland into the box at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
People can vote as many times as they want and votes can be shared on social media by using the hashtag #VoteMONOPOLY and the campaign tag #Maitland4Monopoly.
