The exhibition is put on by the Maitland Regional Society of Artists and this is the fourth time the group has held the event at the school.
This year’s theme is In Your Garden and includes artworks for sale from all of the students.
“We don’t have our own home,” society president Kay Sparkes said.
“We wanted to have another exhibition and we like to be able to hang paintings for our members and for the benefit of the Maitland community.
“By doing it here, we also have the chance to support public education.”
There are 200 of the society’s works on display, including pieces by many award-winning artists, and all artworks will be for sale.
During the year, the society’s members also worked with the school students to produce a mural that will hang in the hall for the duration of the exhibition.
Year 6 student Journey Keasey, 11, was one of the young artists who worked on the mural.
“It was really fun,” she said.
“We got to do painting and collage and use lots of bright colours.”
The exhibition’s official opening will be held on Friday night from 6pm to 8pm.
Entry is $10 and includes wine, nibblies and entertainment.
Free entry applies for Saturday, when the exhibition will be open from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
All the money raised will go to the school.
