The trio headed to the Combined High Schools Championships earlier this month in Taree and did not disappoint.
Davey and Weatherall picked up gold together in the under 16s double sculls.
“I was very excited to win gold with Jack next to me,” Weatherall said.
“It was a tough race, but we pulled through.
“We are still on a high from the weekend.”
Davey went on to bag another gold in the under 16s individual sculls race.
“Yes, it was a big day for me,” Davey said.
“It was a tough row, but I got there in the end.”
His doubles teammate Weatherall claimed silver in the same race.
Fellow Maitland Grossmann student Brendan Budworth claimed bragging rights along with a gold medal for his performance in the under 17s singles comp.
“It’s an exciting time for me and the school with so many medals coming our way,” Budworth said.
“I got into rowing because my family love it.
“It’s rubbed off on me and I really hope I can go places within the sport in the years ahead.”
The partnership between Davey and Weatherall has been noticed at the recent NSW State Rowing Championships.
The pair claimed silver for their efforts in the under 16s doubles.
“It’s been a good month for both of us,” Davey said.
“We just hope we can keep it going in the future.”
