The drop-off will be held at council’s works depot at Metford Road, East Maitland, between 8.30am and noon.
Each household in the local government area has the opportunity to recycle up to four items as a part of the muster.
Cot mattresses, innerspring mattresses and ensemble bases will be accepted.
A mattress with an ensemble base will be counted as two items.
“By participating in this muster you will ensure that components of your old mattresses are recycled instead of being disposed of to landfill,” council development and environment manager David Simm said.
“You will also ensure that valuable space is not taken up in landfill by recyclable materials.”
Maitland residents have recycled more than 12,200 mattresses as part of the regular musters since the event was introduced in February 2011.
To participate in this recycling initiative, proof of residence in the Maitland local government area will be required.
