The 18-year-old has been named in the side after overcoming knee tendinitis and impressing coach John Longmire during the pre-season NAB Challenge.
Heeney was initially told he'd missed the cut in an April Fool's Day prank before being delivered the good news by co-captain Kieren Jack on Wednesday.
