The State Emergency Service has issued a flood watch for the Lower Hunter on the Paterson, Williams and Hunter rivers where moderate to major floods are possible.

A low pressure cell is expected to cause heavy rainfall on the Hunter coast on Monday and Tuesday.
Based on this information from the Bureau of Meteorology the SES has advised there is a greater than 70 per cent chance of floods on the Paterson, Williams and Hunter Valley up to Scone.
Landowners and farmers beside rivers and creeks within these valleys are advised to monitor the weather and be ready to move their livestock, pumps and other equipment away from rising waters.
If flood warnings are issued by the Bureau, the NSW State Emergency Service will release Flood Bulletins to notify people and advise how to protect family and property.

Should flooding develop it will initially affect low-lying farmland and local roads near the lake, rivers and their tributaries.
