We are about to knock down three shops in The Levee to make way for what they call beautification. One has to stop and think, is this a justifiable mission at the moment, or just something to satisfy one’s ego?
Looking at how some of our major roads have been affected over the past week, one has to stop and think, where are our priorities?
Local government will say money has already been allocated for the beautification program and cannot be diverted. I think it’s time for state government to take charge of the situation and start prioritising where and how the money could be better spent.
The township of Gillieston Heights deserves better priority funding in light of the flood situation.
Testers Hollow is another prime example.
