The plan is to help people in need after the floods, but everyone is welcome to come along, Maitland Neighbourhood Centre manager Naomi Rees said.
“A lot of people are in need and if we can help, we will,” she said.
“So on Friday we will open our doors at the Neighbourhood Centre in Arthur Street and everyone is welcome.
“Whatever we have will be laid out on tables and people can take the things they want.”
Ms Rees said people could also come for food if they needed it, but the idea was to provide whatever people required to keep warm and dry.
“So on Friday, people can just drop in and, if we have what they want, they can take it,” she said.
“We have not done anything quite like this before, but then we haven’t had floods like this before either.
“People in Maitland have been so generous.
“This really is the people of Maitland helping other Maitland people.”
