“A total of about 508mm fell in April, which makes this month the wettest April Maitland has ever experienced,” Mr White said.
Branxton had been keeping weather records for 162 years and they also notched up a first.
“The rainfall in April for the Branxton area was in the high 400mm bracket, which for them is also a long-term record,” Mr White said.
“But the signs for a sunny period now are good for the next week or 10 days.
“There will also be no flooding or further effects from floods around Maitland either.”
The area was starting to dry out a bit with a westerly air stream bringing with it some drying winds.
“That could be the good news. We are now in for a more sunny spell,” Mr White said.
