Ms Jenny Aitchison started her career in Sydney with a great inaugural speech followed by an ejection from the chamber the next day.
Her words and passion aside, it showcases the issues that we face locally as we, the seat of Maitland along with the greater Hunter Region, struggle under a government that has downgraded the Hunter in terms of political position.
As there is no longer a minister for the Hunter, the newly appointed Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter, Scot McDonald will be the guest speaker at the Maitland Chamber on Thursday to discuss what his appointment means.

With the opportunist Federal Budget for small business this mantra rings true.

Now would be a great time for local businesses to “have a go” as the Federal Treasurer requested.
With our region still recovering from the recent storm event now is a time to use your chamber more in terms of building relationships, representing and promoting our region and using chamber resources to let everyone know Maitland is open for business.
Maitland Business Chamber is ready to “have a go” for our business community.
