The event brought a touch of Paris to Maitland and raised the most money of any Mai-Wel fundraising initiative since 1970.
“I am so thrilled with this fabulous outcome,” Mai-Wel CEO, Pennie Kearney said.
“From the feedback we have received the 2015 gala ball has exceeded everyone’s expectations.
“The generosity of our sponsors, supporters and guests is just so heart-warming and I thank each and every one for making the gala ball a truly magical event this year.”
The gala was held at Maitland Town Hall where 200 guests enjoyed a Parisian Can Can performance before they wined and dined.
Guests participated in a silent auction and all of the money raised went towards the group’s new creative arts program.
“Not only did we provide a unique and prestigious event for Maitland but $40,000 plus was raised, which will give a huge boost to Mai-Wel’s creative arts program, which provides all-inclusive art and performance opportunities for people with a disability or disadvantage in our local community,” she said.
