They will be playing for Harry.
The Northern NSW Football club will host a charity day close to their hearts – raising funds and supporting family retreat Harry’s House.
East Maitland’s Harry Meyn died of a brain tumour aged seven and in 2011 his parents, David and Samantha, set up the Harry Meyn Foundation.
Harry’s brother Oscar currently plays with the Magpies under 14s and along with his teammates will be at Cooks Square Park on Sunday to watch coach Justin Broadly run around for the Maitland first grade side wearing a specially made jersey.
The upcoming event will also double as the Magpies sponsor’s appreciation day.
Maitland remains winless and last on the National Premier League ladder after going down 4-1 to Edgeworth at Jack McLaughlin Oval on Wednesday night.
The round seven fixture between Maitland and the Charlestown City Blues kicks off at 2.30pm.
In other football news, the Northern NSW Women’s Premier League has turned rounds 11 and 12 into “A Goal for Sophie” to support Cessnock’s Sophie Stapleford in her battle with brain cancer.
