The event called Donkey Matters provided donkey breeders, owners and prospective owners with information and education about taking care of the equines.
Guests attended from the Hunter Valley, Victoria and Queensland.
Donkeys are popular pets, according to seminar organiser and donkey expert Christine Berry of Bishops Bridge.
“People appreciate the companionship of donkeys,” Mrs Berry said.
“It is vital that donkey owners know the right way to handle their animal, manage health and hoof care and provide a proper diet.”
Speakers included veterinarian Dr Diederik Gelderman, Dr Jill Bough, grazier George Dick, master farrier Wayne Brown and horse master Stirling Keayes who impressed all with his expertly trained donkey Humphrey Bogart.
