Fire stations across the Maitland district will throw open their engine bay doors on Saturday, May 30 from 10am until 2pm for the annual Fire and Rescue NSW fire station open day.

More than 300 stations across the state will be open, giving the community a chance to check out fire trucks and firefighting equipment.
A range of free activities will also be on offer, including firefighting demonstrations, station tours and fire safety presentations.
Firefighters will also offer advice about installing smoke alarms, changing smoke alarm batteries and preparing a home fire escape plan.
