The defending Hattah champion returns to a familiar track for a fifth time fresh from his fourth success at the Finke Desert Race in Northern Territory on the June long weekend.
Another triumph on Sunday afternoon would signal another Australian desert double, something the 27-year-old from Aberglasslyn has already achieved on three occasions (2010, 2012, 2014) in his decorated career.
This week the KTM team rider has been based at the 40-acre grounds of the North West Victorian Motorcycle Club, located near Mildura, to prepare for another crack at the endurance event.
“Having a ball out here in the Hattah Desert!” Price posted on Twitter on Tuesday.
This had been preceded by another social media message from @tobyprice87 to his 2393 followers on Monday.
“I’m psyched to be back speeding through the desert on my @KTM_Racing #500EXC this weekend for the Hattah Desert Race,” he said.
Organisers are pleased Price has returned after initial fears he would miss the 2015 event following a bronze-medal performance at his maiden Dakar Rally in South America in January.
Late last month Price extended his lead to 42 points in the Australian Off Road Championships with a fifth straight round win in Queensland.
