A Sydney man accused of sending seven men to fight with terrorist groups in Syria has successfully applied to have his bail relaxed during the month of Ramadan.

Hamdi Alqudsi, 39, has been on strict conditional bail since his arrest in late 2013 and he is due to stand trial in early 2016.
His lawyer, Zali Burrows, asked the NSW Supreme Court on Thursday to allow him to live at Minto Mosque and to move his curfew from 6am to 5am to accommodate for Ramadan.
He will still report daily to police, she said.
The Crown did not oppose the change in curfew but did oppose the application to live at the mosque, saying it was not a proper residence so police would find it harder to ensure he was complying with his bail.
Ms Burrows said her client was already under "constant surveillance" by authorities and Minto Mosque was easy to monitor.
Mr Alqudsi would still be reporting to police daily, she said.
Justice Robert Beech-Jones said Mr Alqudsi had been out on bail for a long time and had been complying with all conditions.
He granted the bail variation, saying the changes were relatively minor and were "clearly [for] an important purpose in my view".
