It might not have that apple pie and Chevrolet-ring but deli-style food and craft beer are among the United State’s most popular cultural exports these days.
“There’s probably not a lot of fervour around American independence here but there are a lot of people interested in their food and the beer culture they’ve developed over the last 10 years,” The Pourhouse licensee Ian Innes said.
“We’re trying to do something a bit different and highlight the food culture.”
New York-style hot dogs, chilli fries and The Pourhouse corned beef Reuben are part of the fare.
The American tap invasion will feature a mocha porter through to a chipotle-infused brew shipped from an area that spans the Deep South to the Pacific North West.
“It’s an opportunity to pay homage to all the beer styles they’ve made popular in recent years,” Mr Innes said.
The USA Tap Takeover also pays tribute to San Franciscan bar tender Danielle Simon.
Friends Troy Taylor and Craig Melville established The Pourhouse and Ian Innes has continued the tradition since the seamless ownership transition on March 31.
