They gather together at the venue for a game of bowls and afterwards share a story or two inside the club over a cup of tea.
But on Tuesday morning, the 38 members marked a milestone – the 60th anniversary of the Beresfield Women’s Bowling Club.
Memories of yesteryear were passed around the table in the form of photo albums and achievements recognised on the honour board.
Special cakes and sweets had been prepared along with a fun game on the rink where each bowler walked away with a gift to mark the occasion.
The club’s oldest player and life member, 90-year-old Vera Roseler attended and joined the management committee – president Karlene Kiem, secretary and member of 21 years Yvonne Hissey and treasurer Merle Morris.
A momentous year can be capped off by those representing Beresfield’s No.3 grade pennant team at the state titles next month after claiming Hunter and regional flags earlier in 2015.
A pair of Beresfield players are also in the mix at the national bowling arm championships in Adelaide.
Previous successes include Hunter No.1 grade crowns in 1996, 1999, 2002, 2006 and 2008 as well as finishing state runners-up in the 2012 seniors.
The Beresfield Women’s Bowling Club meets each Tuesday for all ladies competition and each Thursday for mixed mufti.
