Members extend an invitation to women keen to meet new people, to help others and to enjoy the company of like-minded women.
VIEW stands for voice, interests and education of women.
It was established by children’s charity The Smith Family, 55 years ago, to offer women the opportunity to have their voices heard on issues of national interest and to provide a service to the community, through the education of children, especially those from disadvantaged families.
There are more than 350 clubs throughout Australia in every state and territory.
Maitland VIEW Club sponsors five students in various Australian states to help them with school and learning and the members also support Maitland area schools in a variety of ways.
The 50th anniversary celebration will be held at East Maitland Bowling Club at 10am for 10.30am start.
Maitland City Choir will perform.
Guests will include VIEW national vice-presidents Lyn Gerstenberg and Sue Field, Maitland mayor Peter Blackmore and Robyn Blackmore, national VIEW councillor Bev Giglio and speaker Dawn McLoughlin.
Ms McLoughlin is the Hunter Youth 2020 president.
The group comprises professional and business people helping disadvantaged youth, aged 16 to 25, in the areas of homelessness, housing, education, health and lifestyle choices.
She was also a founding member of the Hunter Business Women’s Network and is involved in the Hunter Foyer Project.
To register for the luncheon, call Maitland VIEW Club president Robin on 4933 7426 or secretary Robyn on 4933 5846 before August 12.
