The group held a raffle and the club donated bar sales for the fundraiser, which resulted in an impressive $1200.
A tin was passed around the room and a further $332 was collected from generous patrons.
Event co-ordinator for the support group Margaret Kirkwood said she was extremely pleased with the effort and thanked the club for its support.
“They were wonderful, the club was totally full and everyone lined up to buy tickets,” Mrs Kirkwood said.
“People don’t realise, but the chopper is a free service, of course you don’t want to get picked up,” she said.
The club’s general manager Glen Whaler said he was happy to lend the venue to such a worthy cause.
“I’m very proud of the patrons for all they donated,” Mr Whaler said.
The support group and the club will host another joint fundraiser near Christmas.
Last year the Maitland Westpac Helicopter Support group raised about $73,000 for the iconic and life-saving rescue service.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter celebrates 40 years of operation this year.
