But president Mick Kealy said they didn’t and it turned out to be one of the biggest crowds of all time.

“It’s hard to believe but there was dust flying everywhere on Saturday,” he said.

“It would have been a shame to call it off as campdraft entries were closed after four days as they were full.

“There were also a lot of rough riders and I believe entries were up in those areas too.

“It was an excellent two days and I think the gate was up about $7000, but I haven’t got the official figures yet.

“The bar sold out of every bit of alcohol they had and the barbecue ran out at 6pm.

“Overall it was a great success and a good family atmosphere.

“There was no trouble at all.”

Mr Kealy congratulated rough riding director Thomas Dillon and campdraft organiser Liam Kirkwood who both did a great job in their respective position.

In the campdraft Gerard Newton won the open event while Warwick Lawrence took out the maiden and novice events.
