Maritime Exposition 2015 runs for three days in Sydney and is the leading Asia Pacific maritime and defence expo.
Among the exhibitors, RDA Hunter will showcase the ME Program which builds partnerships between schools and industry to better educate students.
Through the program the students can learn avionics, robotics, systems integration, electronics, 3D printing and computer aided manufacturing.
As a result participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects across the Hunter is well above the state average for HSC students.
“Having long-term access to people that are STEM qualified is a key requirement for the defence industry,” RDA Hunter CEO Todd Williams said.
“Pacific 2015 is a great platform to demonstrate the innovative techniques the program uses to inspire students to study these subjects and its success in improving participation.”
These new ways of learning have inspired teachers and most schools in the Hunter have adopted the program.
Thirty-two defence-alligned businesses have also joined the program.
The International Defence and Maritime Exposition, Pacific 2015 will be held at Glebe Island, Sydney, from October 6.
