Newcastle’s Doyle narrowly finished second to Nicki Pedersen in the A Final and will go into the last round of the Grand Prix at Melbourne’s Ethiad Stadium on October 24 full of confidence.
Englishman Tai Woffinden sealed his second world speedway championship when American rider Greg Hancock failed to scored in his semi-final.
Woffinden led the world championship by 25 points from Hancock and needed 18 more points from the final two rounds to guarantee his second world title, regardless of the number of points Hancock may have gathered.
Doyle, the reigning Australian solo champion and has been riding in the UK with the Leicester Lions, and his performance which took him to fifth in the title race has secured him a place in the 2016 World Speedway GP.
There will be four Australian riders, including Doyle and fellow Hunter star Sam Masters in the Australian leg of the Grand Prix.
Former world champion Chris Holder and Troy Batchelor have been regulars in the 2015 GP series.
Masters, from Newcastle, last week was awarded a wild card for the event.
