On this Remembrance Day, due to my parliamentary obligations, I will be paying my respects to our veterans, and those still in active service, at the State Service in Sydney.

On behalf of my family and the Maitland community I would like to thank those men and women who have served, and in some cases paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. They have served us well, in peace and war, and we are honoured and humbled by their efforts.
I attended the Returned Service League’s Remembrance Sunday Service at Woodberry on Sunday morning and it was a wonderful opportunity to join the members of that community as well as many students, RAAF personnel and the catafalque party, community organisations and my local, state and federal colleagues.
I encourage everyone in our community to take the opportunity today to reflect on the service and sacrifice of our armed forces, medical corps and others who were involved in both conflict and peace-keeping to ensure that every Australian enjoys the peace and goodwill we do today.
- Jenny Aitchison, Member for Maitland
