The former Kurri Kurri High School student will take centre stage at the Aus-X Open at Allphones Arena and the country’s most successful supercross exponent said he was looking forward to the international competition and freestyle best trick category. 

“I’m stoked to be riding in the first ever AUS-X Open and showcasing our amazing sport to the home fans in Sydney on November 28,” the 33-year-old told mcnews.com.au.

“The supercross racing is going to be intense without a doubt and with the FMX guys alongside competing for the best trick title, this is going to be one of the greatest action sports events to hit Aussie shores.”

The two-time world champion said he was excited about the prospect of riding alongside his fellow countrymen at a venue he last raced in 2001.

“Australia has some of the highest quality riders on the planet so it’s going to be awesome to line up next to our home grown talent at one of the world’s best venues for Supercross in Allphones Arena,” Reed said.

“I haven’t competed there since I first left for the USA 14 years ago.”

Reed, who closed his own TwoTwo Motorsports team earlier this year, will fly the Australian flag with the likes of Kade Mosig, Dan Reardon and Matt Moss.

Frenchman Tom Pages and Japan’s Taka Higashino are among the international competitors.
