As part of the International Day of People with Disability the Maitland PCYC will come alive with sporting activities on Tuesday, for people of all ability levels.
The day is a joint project of PCYC Maitland, Maitland City Council, Endeavour Group Australia, Amped Ability Personal Training, Ability Links, Early Links and St Vincent de Paul.
“The Get Physical multi-sporting day will be a great way for people of all abilities to come together and try out a variety of sports,” Endeavour Group Australia regional co-ordinator Rebecca Curtis said .
“There will be a range of different sport sessions running on the day including tennis, karate, taekwondo, dancing and lawn bowls.”
The community is invited to participate and see local sporting businesses demonstrate how their sports can be adapted to all levels of skill and ability.
“We are also really excited for the wheelchair basketball competition that will be running for everyone to try out on the day,” she said.
Live entertainment and lunch will be provided on the day.
The Get Physical multi-sporting day is free and will begin at 10am at the PCYC Maitland.
