This area is part of Central Ward (not East Ward) and I have never been contacted by the residents about their problem.
However, following the MM stories, I have now contacted some of the residents.
Mitchell’s other comments show ignorant bigotry.
Firstly, he should not carelessly accuse people as having “homophobic egos” because he doesn’t like them or they disagree with him.
Secondly, older people have much greater experience of life and can be very suitable councillors if they are still energetic.
Older people have lived through and remember all of the periods of life and can represent younger people, whereas many younger people have no idea of how older people think.
If Mitchell doubts my energy, I will accept a challenge from him to an arm wrestle at any time. He was correct when he said that he and I “are very different people”. Political parties would be far better without furtive scheming members.
