The 11-year-old pair from Maitland will head on their second overseas futsal adventure in as many seasons when they trek to Malaysia later this year.
This follows a trip to Hawaii in November.
Many of the same players will double over in the travelling national age squad and Thornton’s Butchard reckons it will make things a bit easier on court.
“We will know their names and we know how they play,” he said.
The dynamic duo earned selection in the Australian Futsal Association team following the under-11 national championships in Sydney earlier this month.
Competition was held at Windsor and Butchard, a striker, and Aberglasslyn-based Walker, a goalkeeper, helped Northern NSW to reach the quarter-final stages.
Impressive individual performances saw them both called up to the country’s top squad once more.
Training will be held during the coming months before touring again in November.
In the meantime they will continue playing for Tigers in the weekly under-12 futsal competition at Maitland Federation Centre.
Outdoor football is also heating up with training set to start next week for the Hunter Hawks under 12s.
