The Jets Youth League player will be running around Pasadena Oval, near his family home at Beresfield, as part of a pre-season trial against the Hawks.
Pawiak also went to primary school at Beresfield with upcoming opponents Ricky Franks and Mitch Maidment.
“They all grew up together,” Hawks coach Les True said.
“They went to school down here at Beresfield and now they get a chance to play against each other here at home.”
The friendly match came about through True’s long-standing connection with Jets Youth League coach Clayton Zane.
True’s son Robbie and Zane were teammates in the junior ranks.
True also coached Zane once upon a time at the Newcastle Australs, an entity which eventually became the Jets.
Zane was on the sidelines when Beresfield won last year’s Zone Premier League grand final, which capped off a minor-major premiership for the Hawks.
It followed a similar feat for the club and promotion from the division below 12 months earlier.
This has set Beresfield up for a hat-trick title attempt in 2016.
“We will be going for the three,” True said. “The squad is shaping up all right.”
Veteran Danny Burt remains in the mix and netted a hat-trick in a recent 3-1 trial win against Toronto.
Chris Archer, Matt Gabriel, Brady Randall and Will Maher also committed again but Kallen Cook and Lloyd Simoes are unavailable.
Luke Lawless will be out for three weeks as he recovers from an ankle injury.
