Police arrested and charged two teenagers following investigations into the armed robbery at Raymond Terrace.
On Sunday March 6, about 7.30am, two males entered a tobacco shop with their faces covered, wearing gloves, and one allegedly armed with a tomahawk.
The pair threatened the shop assistant with the weapon before stealing cash, cigarettes, lollies and ice-creams.
They ran from the location and were seen getting into a waiting vehicle.
Police from Port Stephens were called and a crime scene was established while further investigations took place.
As a result of those investigations, police arrested two boys, aged 16, in the Gosford area.
They were taken to Gosford Police Station where they were charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.
They will both appear in a children’s court on Thursday March 17.
