The awards are facilitated by the Hunter Region Business Enterprise Centre, and are open to all businesses across the Hunter.
BEC manager Kerry Hallett said there are many benefits of entering the awards, particularly in these tough times.
“It helps you and your team feel positive. Nominating for an award gives us chance to reflect on accomplishments and feel proud of them even if we don’t win,” she said.
“It’s great publicity and helps promote your business. Winning an award is something to talk about and it attracts attention.
“It helps you improve your business. Completing the entry forms can be like a business health check.”
Last year’s winners included Deltawater Pty Ltd (business of the year); Bryce Gibson of LJ Hooker Cessnock (young entrepreneur); and Tony and Stephanie Mortel of Mortel’s Sheepskin Factory, who respectively won the business leader and business woman categories.
The 2016 awards will be held on September 23 at Maitland City Bowling Club. Entries close July 29.
Entry forms can be downloaded from www.huntervalleyhub.com.au. Call the BEC on 4936 2557 for more information.
