The annual Chapel Jazz festival returns to Morpeth this weekend.

From Friday, May 13 until Sunday, May 15, amazing jazz bands will play traditional jazz throughout the town.
On Friday from 7.30pm New Orleans Quartet will open the event with Jazz Cabaret at St James Anglican Church Hall.
Tickets are $40 per person with complimentary champagne on arrival.
On Saturday, May 14 from 9.30am-12.30pm Swingmania will perform at a gourmet champagne jazz breakfast at Lillies and Limes.
Jazz a la Carte will perform from 11.00am-12.30pm at Campbell’s Store.
A jazz lunch with Jazz a la Carte will be on at the Commercial Hotel from 12.30-2pm.
The New Empire Ballroom will play at Morpeth House from 1.30pm-4.30pm. Refreshments will be provided by the CWA.
Jazz a la Carte will perform again at Campbell’s Store from 2-3.30pm.
In the evening, Smokin’ Chops will take the stage at the Commercial Hotel from 7-10pm.
Then on Sunday, May 15 from 9-10am there will be an ecumenical service at Morpeth Uniting Church, with music by the Frenchman Street New Orleans String Band.
Le Toot Ensemble will then put on a show in the cafe of the Grounds of Morpeth uniting Church from 10am-1pm.
Frenchman Street New Orleans String Band will provide the entertainment from 11am-2pm at Campbell’s Store.
Maryville Jazz Trio will perform at the Australian Alpaca Barn from 11am-2pm.
The school bands spectacular begins at 1pm at the cafe, with Hunter Valley Grammar School kicking things off from 1-2pm.
Hunter School of Performing Arts will put on a show from 2.15-3.15 pm.
The Brass Razoo from Newcastle Grammar School will then play from 3.30-4.30 pm.
The festival will end with a performance of John Coltrane’s ‘A Love Supreme’ at St James Church.
There will also be performers playing throughout the streets of Morpeth over the weekend.
All performances except the Jazz Cabaret are free to watch.
