From 9am to 3pm, the public is welcome to peruse the numerous items that the society has collected over the years.
There will be old photos, model houses, and other memorabilia relating to the town of Maitland.
Maitland and District Historical Society president Keith Cockburn said the day is about people seeing where they are and what they do.
“We are hoping to enlighten more people in Maitland to the fact that we exist,” he said.
Mr Cockburn is particularly excited about displaying a set of marching girl badges from the 1960s.
The badges are from areas all around the region including a Hunter Valley group, and Mr Cockburn said he is keen to hear if there are local people who were involved in a Maitland marching band.
People are also welcome to bring along any items they may think are suitable for display.
The event will take place at 3 Cathedral Street, Maitland.
