Emerging Newcastle Knights five-eighth Brock Lamb remains upbeat after receiving news an ankle injury will see him sidelined for the next eight weeks.

He has an appointment with the surgeon this week after scans revealed a high grade syndesmosis (ankle) rupture.
“It happened at the start of the game (Round 11) on the weekend. I got it twisted underneath me. Unfortunately, it means seven or eight weeks on the sideline and surgery which is not the best outcome,” he told Knights TV.

“I have to take it in my stride and rehab as hard as I can and hopefully get back at the end of the year.”
Lamb sustained the injury in the first half against the Wests Tigers, before receiving treatment at half time that allowed him to finish the game.
“It was pretty sore out there but I had the mentality I didn’t want to let anyone down and kept trying and pushing,” he said.
The 19-year-old will now embark on a rehabilitation program while maintaining his fitness while recovering.
“I have to get in the gym work as hard as I can to try and get back for the end of the year and get back then,” he said.
"I have had a taste of first grade so I have a lot of vision now and can work on my game in other ways.”
