More than 100 runners raced in each of the 4km, 8km and 12km events, while 15 athletes took on each other the headline sprint – the Maitland Mile.
Jess Maxwell won the mile, which took runners through Central Maitland to a finish line in the Levee, in 4.45 minutes.
“[It was] a tough race but I pulled through in the end,” he said.
Amanda Russell was the first of the women to finish the Maitland Mile, which she completed in 6.23 minutes.
“I’ve been battling a head cold the last week so the first 1km felt alright, but coming into the wind along the river was quite tough,” she said.
Arnold Bartlett won the men’s category of the 4km event, while Luchia Burgess took out the women’s category.
Bartlett also won the 8km run, while Jane Baker placed first in the women’s division.
Shane Ilgen crossed the line first in the 12km race, the longest of the day, while Anna Grant took out first place for the women.
