Labor’s small business spokesperson says it would be interesting to see how a trial program aimed at reducing red tape for new business owners in Western Sydney would be received in other parts of the state, like the Hunter.

The state government is trialing the Easy to do Business Program in Parramatta, to reduce costs and impediments for people in the process of setting up cafes, bars and restaurants. Jenny Aitchison said she supported the trial but it should be tested in a range of regions.
“It would be interesting to know what economic planning and modeling went into choosing this particular region and this particular business category,” she said.
“It would be good to trial these initiatives in a range of environments not just metropolitan areas as small businesses are important providers of regional jobs. I would want to know what the government's plan is for evaluating the pilot and if it is successful what plan they have for rolling out the initiative across the state. “
