The Stockland Green Hills Connectivity Centre has been established to address unemployment in the Hunter, particularly among youth.
The centre will provide a space for candidate screening, training and job-matching, and host job-ready programs.
Youth not-for-profit yourtown, Maitland City Council, local employers and community groups have come together to support the measure.
Maitland Mayor Peter Blackmore said the centre was an exciting initiative for the community.
NSW Resources and Energy Minister Anthony Roberts, and Regional Development, Skills and Small Business Minister John Barilaro (pictured above) agreed that the space will provide great job opportunities.
Meanwhile, the Stockland renovation is running two weeks ahead of schedule and is set to open in April 2018.
