Meryl Swanson’s campaign issued an apology on Monday, after a passer-by snapped a ute, containing corflutes for Mr Swanson’s campaign, illegally parked at Green Hills last week.
When Fairfax Media approached Ms Swanson for a comment about the matter, a spokesman said a campaign volunteer had been driving the vehicle that day.
“Meryl was not driving the vehicle on the day the photo was taken,” he said.
“A volunteer was driving the vehicle and inadvertently parked in the disabled spot.
“On behalf of the campaign, we apologise that it happened.”
On Twitter, Liberal Party member from Maitland Mitchell Price said the incident was “disgusting”.
