George had a commanding 62-32 win over LJ Hooker during the 1pm timeslot.
George midcourter Amonie Lindsell, who didn’t play in the match, said the margin was more than they expected, but that the game was competitive throughout.
Missing Lindsell, goal attack Karlee Grayson and midcourter Cindy Lidbury, George called on Ashleigh Davis as a substitute player for the game.
Lindsell said they gradually progressed throughout the match, and finished strongly.
She said wing attack Ashlee Edwards had a very strong game, Amy Williams played great in defence and Genevieve Lantry was very accurate in goals despite being dealt a high shooting load.
Lindsell said with six from six wins so far, the team has made it’s strongest start to a season so far.
But she said they didn’t want to get too far ahead of themselves going into the second half of the season.
Hills Solicitors also had a commanding 70-21 win over The Castle, who are yet to win a game.
Hills player Mel Morris said the players all gelled and had fun during the match.
Morris said she couldn’t pick one player who outshone the rest, with all 10 players doing their bit across the court.
With a tight contest at the top of the ladder, Morris said while The Castle pushed them throughout the match, they were looking to increase their goal difference.
Morris said the win exemplified their target of finishing on top of the A-grade ladder.
“If we keep up what we did yesterday, we can push for a minor premiership again,” she said.
“We’re on track for what we want to achieve.”
The closest match of the round was played between the Royal Federal Hotel and The Bradford.
Royal Federal came up as the winner 40-23, which keeps them in good contention for an appearance in the finals.
