The Magpies were beaten 1-0 by Valentine FC at Cooks Square Park.
The only goal of the match came in the 20th minute through No. 7 Ridge Mapu.
Magpies assistant coach Reece Thompson said he thought his team had the better of the game, but didn’t take their chances.
Thompson said they simply needed to score more goals, having only notched up two in the last four games.
Maitland’s under-22s also went down 2-0 and the under-19s suffered a 4-2 defeat as well.
The Bears went down to Edgeworth FC 3-0 at Rockwell Automation Park.
Bears coach Trevor Morris wasn’t too disappointed in the performance of his players, saying they were beaten by a better team.
Morris said Weston gave it their all, but just couldn’t keep up with their opponents.
