The Novacastrian scored his breakthrough win with a memorable pass on American Greg Hancock in the final of the Czech Grand Prix.
“It’s like a monkey off my back, and after a year and a half in the Grand Prix series I can’t believe the feeling to finally win one,” Doyle told the Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard
“It hasn’t sunk in yet, but I know I’m never going to forget this day and I hope there’ll be many more in the future.
“I had about three massive crashes in a month and it started taking its toll, so to finally come back and get a win is an amazing feeling.
“It’s tougher than ever this year so I’m over the moon. I was just trying to score some points, and that’s what it’s all about.
“Hopefully I can score some more good points in Cardiff and just keep enjoying myself.”
Doyle’s win lifts him to fourth in the World Championship standings on 44 points, two points behind former Aussie world champion Chris Holder in third. Hancock leads the 11-round series on 56 points.
The World Championship shifts to Cardiff for the British Grand Prix, for round five, on Saturday, July 9.
Meanwhile, Doyle and fellow Hunter riders Sam Masters, of Newcastle, and Pelaw Main’s Rohan Tungate have been named in the Australian 2016 Speedway World Cup squad.
