The round is a celebration of the Black Diamond AFL women’s competition which has grown from six to 10 teams since its inception last year.
All women’s games will be played back to back at Newcastle’s No. 1 Sportsground, with Maitland’s match being the opening game at 9am.
BDAFL Football Operations Manager Garry Burkinshaw said that Saturday was an important day on the Australian Rules calendar.
"The Women's competition has been a remarkable success since it's inception in 2015 and as such it is important that we acknowledge their contribution" Burkinshaw said.
"Saturday is a perfect opportunity for the players to mix with players from the other teams and it also gives AFL followers the opportunity to witness first hand the ability of the women players.”
