Lavis started out with the club nine years ago playing with the Colts and working his way into first grade.
The 29-year-old said he was proud of the achievement and had enjoyed his time with the club.
The Blacks are at home again this week, and will look to take last week’s winning form against Southern Beaches into the round 11 match.
Maitland are counting on a win to retain their top four spot, sitting just one point ahead of the Waratahs on the ladder.
Nelson Bay will also be hungry for a win this weekend following their big 64-22 loss to third-placed Merewether Carlton on Saturday.
The Blacks second grade side will also be coming in off a win over Southern Beaches.
In the third division competition, the Blacks will look to keep a hold of their top spot on the ladder in their clash with the Gropers.
