When Joplin Lawyers open in Rutherford, it will be somewhat of a homecoming for its Director, Joplin Higgins.
The lawyer, who is well known for her work representing Family Law clients, grew up in Telarah and was a student at St Paul’s in Rutherford.
Ms Higgins established Joplin Lawyers in Singleton in 2013 and is now preparing for the July 12 launch of the firm’s Rutherford branch.
“This is like a homecoming for me. It is with a swell of pride that we have seized on the opportunity to open Joplin Lawyers Rutherford branch,” she says.
Joplin Lawyers is a respected boutique law firm best known for its experience in family law matters.
They also work with clients in the legal matters of Criminal Law, conveyancing, wills, estate planning and succession planning.

As well as being Director, Ms Higgins is team leader in the Family Law and Domestic Violence division and will attend to these matters in the Rutherford office.
Zachary Biddle, a Maitland local, has been with Joplin Lawyers for two years in the conveyancing sector of the firm. “We are excited about this new opportunity to provide comprehensive legal assistance to the Maitland area,” Ms Higgins says.
The lawyer is a vocal campaigner against domestic violence and firmly believes in the necessity of rehabilitation processes for the perpetrators of domestic violence.
As part of her work, Ms Higgins travelled recently to the United States to review successful initiatives to address domestic violence.
She is also demanding increased government funding for services and education programs to deal with the issue in Australia.
Ms Higgins prides herself on offering astute legal representation and emphasising warm, personal attention.
She views her clients as partners and focuses on building long-term relationships with them.
