Hofman died suddenly in October 2014, from a ruptured spleen, the result of Epstein Barr Virus.
He was also a popular member of the Maitland Pickers, who have also held tribute days in his honour, after graduating through the junior ranks at Thornton Beresfield.
Thornton Beresfield president Jordan Eckford said Hofman was a much loved member of the club and they felt the memorial day was a fitting way to pay tribute to him and his family.
Eckford said the day would kick off at 9am with the Bears junior teams from under-10 through to under 17s playing.
The Bears senior team take on the Hexham Jets in the main game starting at 3pm.
“We would love you see all past and present players at Lindsay Oval on Saturday for an action packed day with plenty of activities for the kids as well with jumping castles and kids rides,” Eckford said.
