On Saturday evening Maitland Police were patrolling in the Woodberry area when they have observed a female acting in a suspicious manner at the phone booth outside the Woodberry shops.

Officers subsequently spoke to the woman and carried out a search locating small plastic containers from the female’s socks.
A search of the containers revealed what police suspected to be drugs.
Alcohol-fuelled violence
A man was assaulted while waiting for a taxi after leaving the Windsor Castle Hotel in East Maitland on Saturday night.
Police allege the perpetrator was intoxicated.
The male victim was taken to Maitland Hospital where he received stitches to his head.
Fire damage at Jason’s Custom Motorcycles
In the early hours of Monday morning emergency services were contacted to Jason’s Custom Motorcycles regarding a building fire.
The fire was extinguished however extensive damage was caused as a result.

Leaving the scene of a car accident
On Saturday afternoon a report was made to Maitland Police from a victim whose vehicle has been hit by another vehicle.
The damage was minor, however the other driver failed to leave their details with the victim which has caused a police investigation.
The community are reminded that it is a legal requirement to supply your details to the other driver if involved in a collision.
Thieves steal batteries from waste depot
Between Saturday and Sunday the Maitland Waste Depot was broken into.
The thieves have then targeted a storage container on site where about 50-60 old batteries were stolen from the location.
